Many times in the past, I have threatened to give up music entirely. The longest period of ever achieving this aim was less than three years. I'm mostly directing my efforts elsewhere these days, primarily in order to devote myself to school. It's hard for me to do music halfway, and at this point in my life, I can't justify further attempts to be a full-time musician. I know too many middle-aged (and older) guys who are in that boat, and they are a bitter and unhappy lot. I don't care to join them in their misery. My mood is considerably lighter when I steer clear of such thoughts.
