I used the
horrible “life/wife” rhyme way too much in some of my early songwriting.
It wasn't until nearly halfway through my senior year of high school that I finally started seriously dating someone. I must have been world's most incompetent boyfriend. I hope she has since found it in her heart to forgive my awkwardness. This song doesn't begin to capture the overwhelming feelings that accompany first love.
First Girl

First girl: you
never forget her
First girl: from
the moment you met her
She's the turning
point in your life
You dream of her
as your wife
First girl: you
never forget your first girl
You met her in
high school
You had a first
date
You didn't even
kiss her
Didn't stay out
late
You called up
your best friend
You were so
excited
You had to tell
someone about your night
You got your
first girl: you never forget her
First girl: from
the moment you get her
She's the turning
point in your life
You thought she
might be your wife
First girl: you
never forget your first girl
You dated a few
times
Then began going
steady
You didn't make
love
Till you both
were ready
Every new feeling
seemed like a dream
You were so happy
when you were seen
With your first
girl: oh, she's so special
First girl: she's
so remarkable
First girl: she's
unforgettable
First girl: She's
incredible!
First girl: you
never forget her
First girl: from
the moment you met her
She's the turning
point in your life
You dream of her
as your wife
First girl: you
never forget your first girl
When you broke up
it was painful to both
But it had to
happen so you both could grow
The nights of
crying
The days of
dreaming
You never forget
the funny feeling
For your first girl
