Writing these
little commentaries on my song lyrics is a project that is interesting for me,
but I’m not sure if it’s interesting for anyone else. I’ve been thinking more
seriously lately about trying to make a career in writing. The advice that
comes up over and over for aspiring writers is, not surprisingly, to write!

actual writing, then the desire is not to write.” -

Another Man Named Dan

Here we go again
I thought he was
my friend
But the more I
see, it's clear to me he's got designs on you
I've been here
before
Been booted out
the door
To make room for
a looney tune with an act so smooth
I had to move
Now the pain I
felt that day is coming back my way
And once again
I'm going to have to say
Another man named
Dan has come into my life to take my woman away
Yes, a man named
Dan has come into my life to take my woman away
Dan Number One
was never my chum
But he seemed
like a pretty nice guy
But I wondered
why, when my girl went by,
He would never
look me in the eye
He was looking at
her; she was looking at him
I admit--it
really hurt
Now there's you
and Dan Number Two
And I helplessly
watch you flirt
What are you trying
to do?
You know how I
feel about you
I'm beginning to
think it's a game I'm bound to lose
Another man named
Dan has come into my life to take my woman away
Yes, a man named
Dan has come into my life to take my woman away
Here we go again
I thought you
were my friend
But the more I
see, it's clear to me he's reeling you in
I recognize the
signs
The same evasive
lines
It's all been
done; I've heard the one about the other guy
And I'm not blind
But before you
say goodbye
Look me in the
eye
Don't be disappointed
if I don't cry
Another man named
Dan has come into my life to take my woman away
Yes, a man named
Dan has come into my life to take my woman away
