The vast majority
of my songs have never been performed live, by me or anyone else. This one has.
Not often, but for a short while it was in my active repertoire when doing solo
piano/vocal gigs around Chicago.
Current
listening: Carpenters, Christmas Portrait (Special Edition)
I love holiday
music, and am usually pulling out my Christmas CDs by mid-November. Now I also
subscribe to Spotify, about which, as both a music listener and creator, I have
mixed feelings. It is certainly nice to have so much great music at my
fingertips, but online music has drastically altered the landscape for
musicians.
The Only Person In The World
© 1994 Brian
Hutzell
She never worries
about keeping her appointments
Why should she
hurry?
She’s the only
person in the world
She allows
nothing to interfere with her enjoyment
It’s not worth
discussing
She’s the only
person in the world
She’s the only
person
She’s the only
person
She’s the only
person in the world
She never
considers her actions’ repercussions
Emotional litter
She sweeps away
and instantly forgets
Sometimes she
scares me; she seems bent on self-destruction
Still, nothing
prepares me
For when I find
myself caught in her net
She’s the only
person
She’s the only
person
She’s the only
person in the world
The morning paper’s
only good for comics and horoscopes
The nightly news
is only gossip and film reviews
The city’s
perfectly safe for walking after dark
Cause she’s the
only person in the park
No one can touch
her.
She’s the only
person in the world
No one can disturb
her.
She’s the only
person in the world
No one will hurt
her.
She’s the only
person in the world
No one will
desert her.
She’s the only
person in the world
She’s the only
person
She’s the only
person
She’s the only
person in the world
