"I’d Rather Be Flying"

This is a theme that pops up over and over in my dreams and in my songs: the sense that there is something better beyond my ordinary humdrum existence. “Take Me anywhere” is another example. Today is January 2nd, 2016, right at the start of a new year. Why not start today?

Daily routine, stagnant scenes

What I want is what I’m not getting

What I see is where I’m not going

What I get isn’t worth starving

What I feel: the boat is too steady

Gotta escape, break some rules

Gotta forget what I learned in school
