"Give It Up"

In the movie Amadeus, there is a scene where Mozart is describing a scene from The Marriage of Figaro. He explains that it is a conversation between multiple people. The cacophony of voices would be unintelligible if the music didn’t sort them out and bring order to the chaos. In some of my songs, I attempt on a much smaller scale to accomplish a similar thing: different points of view are presented within the same song. On paper, as in the example presented here, it doesn’t make sense. Only when the completed recording is heard, can the music clear up the confusion.
